# Canton Network

Canborsa is built on Canton Network, a privacy-enabled, institutional-grade blockchain designed specifically for financial applications.

Canton Network was developed by Digital Asset and is used by some of the world's largest financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse, and others. Its architecture is built around three core properties that make it particularly well-suited for bringing real-world assets onchain at scale.

**Privacy by design.** On Canton Network, transaction details are visible only to the participants involved, not broadcast to the entire public chain. This is critical for financial applications where trade data, counterparty information, and asset exposure are sensitive by nature.

**Regulatory compliance.** Canton is designed with compliance in mind. Its model supports the kind of permissioned access controls and data privacy requirements that regulated financial institutions need, while remaining composable with broader DeFi infrastructure.

**Interoperability.** Canton Network is built to interoperate with other blockchain ecosystems. Canborsa leverages this to support a multi-chain user experience across Canton, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, all from the same interface.

By building on Canton, Canborsa inherits institutional-grade infrastructure while making it accessible to a broader market. Users get the security and compliance architecture of a system trusted by global banks, combined with the non-custodial, open-access model of DeFi.
